The ancient Egypt civilization started around 3150 B.C.E, and from the artifacts and items that were precious back then, still remain today. This civilization is one of the first in the world, and has left mystery's and stories for us to discover.
One of the most recognized Pharos of ancient Egypt is King Tut. With Egyptologist Howard Carter finding the young Pharos tomb in 1922, The tomb hasn't been touched in over 3000 years! All that's left in the tomb is the paintings on the wall, the sarcophagus ( the box the coffin is in) and the coffin.
Now, for the Pyramids. In Giza, the most recognized things are the two great pyramids and the sphinx. The Pyramid was build in the fourth dynasty and was build for Pharaoh Khufu. Most Egyptians say that building the Pyramids were actually their country's biggest mistake, because in ancient Egyptian tradition, the Pharaohs were buried with their jewels and treasures, so the Pyramids were a big finger point for all the treasures. Now, the Pyramids are Egypts biggest landmarks, and give us so much history as of what life used to be like back then.
The King family at the Pyramids.
Life used to be so much different back then, people relied on the flooding of the Nile river, but the water wasn't always the cleanest. Cardiovascular diseases also may have caused earlier death in Egypt. Still, We have learned so much from the ancient Egyptians, and they have sculpted some of our beliefs today! For Halloween, do you think black cats are good luck or bad luck? The ancient Egyptians thought they were good luck and even mummified them when they died! Overall, Egypt has left amazing things for us to see and learn from, and we have only uncovered the tiniest bit of all the things that are under the ground.

Cormac and I just read this together. Wow, what an adventure. I've never been to Egypt but it's at the top of my list. It's so interesting to learn how people lived so long ago -- and in the case of the Egyptian, it seems surprisingly comfortable and modern. Thank you for sharing your reflections.
