While staying in Greece, we ran into something surprising - there was animals were on the property. Our family doesn't have a lot of experience taking care of animals, so this made us happy.
When staying at our rental house, the property is full of three cats that made the kids day, and chickens that lay eggs. We went to the store a few days after we arrived and bought a five pound bag of cat food and expected it to last all month. Were we wrong? Very. These cats ate all the food in just three days and other cats in the neighborhood joined them, like the little black cat named Oreo. We found Oreo on the street, and fed it food, gave it something to drink, and now its much healthier and has learned to be around humans. In addition to cats, the house also has seven chickens and two ducks. They lay eggs that we collect each day.
Oscar (One of the three cats) somehow got onto the bed.
Cecily with the cats. Pete, the ginger colored cat, and oscar, below Pete. Oreo is in Cecily's lap.
But beware, these cats are very sneaky, and sometimes decide to do mischievous things like get inside the house and lay on your bed, and hang on the screen that are meant to keep all the insects out of the house.
In conclusion, pets and animals are something wonderful about our world, and we should take care of them. Not only are we helping animals but they are helping us by bringing us joy.
Such a great opportunity to care for those cuties! The cats must be so happy to hang out with you, getting all the love and treats. Oreo seems like a fitting name for her!
Cece must be soooo happy with the cats? by the way a great prank that every mom loves is to put a cat or a chicken on them in the middle of the night when they are sleeping. Try it out tonight - it’s also an automatic winner for your next blog post!
Pets do bring us so much joy!!! Now…how are pets and kids alike? Both love mischief! What sneaky mischief have you been getting into!?
So fun! You should ask your parents to buy you a pet when you get back to California!
These kittens are so fluffy and cute -- but they can be naughty. :) Love that you're getting some pet time on my favorite island. Somehow our house didn't have any cats -- only goats.
